“The Soul of the Creator”

Often photographers forget the importance of relationship in their images, that is the relationship they have with the subject and that the subject has with them. The Soul of the Creator examines the way I have explored my own viulnerabilities through photography and found a way to communicate how I feel about myself and the subject. I discuss the possessive language used to describe images and the damaging effects competition  can have on photographers, as well as the way images are critiqued. During the 90 minutes I share my vision of beauty, play and the pursuit of imperfection as an antidote to the modern way of thinking about photography as something to validate ones existence.

Biography

English fine art photographer Paul Sanders has been involved in professional photography for over 35 years, mainly working for Reuters, and then The Times newspaper as Picture Editor, overseeing the entire visual content of the prestigious publication.

Since leaving The Times Paul’s approach to photography is one of mindful connection, his work is made in response to his emotional and spiritual responses to the locations he visits and choice of subjects to reflect the sense of stillness and calm he feels whilst making images..

Paul’s, beautiful, highly reflective work has been exhibited widely across the UK, Europe & Japan.
